To whom it may concern:

I am writing this letter in support of Beach City Baseball Academy and their plans to build a baseball camp in the Ojai area. Our son Edward Holly has been playing on one of the travel teams with Beach City for the past two years. He is now 13 and Beach City has become like a second home for us. We like the coaching, the facilities, and Edward’s baseball skills continue to improve. But what separates Beach City from other baseball programs is its extracurricular activities and opportunities for growth.

My son has participated in the past two international tournaments hosted by Beach City and we have been lucky to host a German player last year and a Japanese player this year. What a tremendous gift this was to have our son learn a different culture and in the process develop a friendship with two baseball players who live in two ifferent countries.

In addition, my son was able to volunteer with the special needs program at Beach City this past year. This was a great opportunity to share his baseball passion with children who are developmentally disabled. This opportunity gave my son a good perspective on the challenges faced by these children and allowed him to develop compassion and understanding for children with special needs and reinforced the importance of service to others. Not only has Beach City been a great training academy for my son to develop his baseball skills, it has given him some great experiences and learning opportunities that he will carry for the rest of his life.

Thank you for the opportunity to share our experiences with you.

Sincerely,

Ed and Debby Holly
