The world-famous camel.

Albert came to Rancho Grande at just four weeks old. We bottle-fed him, raised him alongside our dogs and goats, and watched a little camel grow into an enormous personality.

You may know him from his snowy adventures or his visits to our kitchen. Here at the ranch, he is simply Albert: curious, affectionate, occasionally stubborn, and always himself.

Come for Albert. Stay for the ranch.

His videos have travelled around the world. His home is right here: 200 private acres in the mountains above Ojai, shared with goats, dogs, horses and the people who care for them.
