Meet Albert

The world famous camel who still thinks he belongs in the kitchen.

Albert came to Rancho Grande when he was just four weeks old, small enough to be bottle fed and convinced from the beginning that he belonged wherever the family was. He grew up alongside our dogs and goats, wandered into our kitchen and became the enormous, curious and affectionate personality millions of people now recognize from his snowy adventures and everyday mischief.

More than 200 million video views later, Albert is known around the world. At home, he is still simply Albert: funny, stubborn, gentle, endlessly curious and happiest whenever something interesting or edible is happening nearby.

Meeting Albert means really meeting him.

This is not a quick glimpse of a camel standing behind a fence. Albert lives here and walks around the ranch. He may stroll past the Cowboy Cabin, stop by the porch to say hello, follow the activity or settle in with guests who want to spend time with him. You can interact with him and enjoy his company for as much of the day as Albert is willing to share.

Albert is also part of a much larger animal family. Guests can spend time with goats, alpacas, pigs, horses, donkeys, sheep, dogs and many of the other animals who call Rancho Grande home. Their encounters happen naturally throughout the day, which is why every visit to the ranch feels different.
